Will, Matt, and James recently joined dancer Heather Panikkar to premiere her solo dance piece “Darkness” at the Unidos Spring Series at The Annabella Gonzalez Dance Theater over three performances. The quartet recently traveled to Saranac, NY for a recording session and retreat at Hill and Hollow Music. After three intense days of 6-hour recording sessions, we successfully recorded 6 pieces which we hope to release soon. Two days after the recording session was done, we also performed a concert of some of the works
The Guidonian Hand welcomes trombonist Matt Melore as the newest member of the quartet. Matt is a busy freelancer in New York City and has performed with the Hand frequently during the past several years as a guest. We are thrilled to have him onboard as we move forward with some new and exciting projects.
In early November we performed for the Music for Autism Program at the Central Queens Y in Forrest Hills, NY. Joined by an audience of all ages, we played an interactive concert for autistic children, adults, and their families.
We are happy to have participated in the Northern Manhattan Alliance’s Uptown Arts Stroll. The stroll is an annual event featuring artists and musicians from Washington Heights and Inwood (the northern most neighborhoods of Manhattan). At the end of May we were part of an amazing show presented by MADArt Creative at the Flamboyán Theater, CSV Cultural Center on New York’s lower east side. It was a multimedia event joining music, dance, and painting. The result was irresistible. Choreographer Lauren Camp created this video.
